  1. Tony mash says:

Good news indeed..the boy has been doing well both for the club and national team..

  2. Naijaguy says:

The award belongs to victor moses…

    • Big Steve 4rm SA says:

Sadio Mane has by far been the best African footballer on the planet.

      • Naijaguy says:

It’s not about playing and scoring.. does he have any trophy to back it up?
Vic moses played right wing back for chelsea, still
Scored goals, won the premier league. Won caf man of the match award 3 times during our world cup qualification series.
What has Mane got to on the table? Goals. That’s all

  3. km says:

I beg to disagree with CAF,i don’t know which criteria they were using. The weakest point of our nation team is where kapumbu, and silwimbas play.these fullbacks have been a source of concern to our nation team.Anyway Caf knows better than I do

    • Big Steve 4rm SA says:

Sometimes just be patriotic and be happy for your own. Why do we always find t hard as Zambian just to block out the negative and be happy and support our own….eishh!!!!

      • Positive thinking says:

Awe ba Big Steve. The guy is right, patriotic ninshi we should act like we’re blind? Kapumbu has not been outstanding at National team level, how he was selected ahead of guys like Augustine Mulenga or even Ziyo Tembo is beyond me. Blind patriotism does no one any good.

    • Mulenga says:

The Decision is based on both how the players has performed for Club and country.

Kapumbu has really been good for Zesco this year.

    • kamwa says:

In the eyes of outsiders Kapumbu was identified as an outstanding player during ZESCO matches and national team duties. Mind you other nations kin followers and watch Bola Yapa Zed on Supersport

  4. Big Steve 4rm SA says:

Of the 30 players only three from Southern Africa…mmmmm!!!!!

This is a sign that individually our players are still at the bottom of that ladder or is it that the powers that be are still only focused on certain parts of Africa…

Well done Fackson and congratulations on making the 30 man cut.

    • Naijaguy says:

You always complain of cheating. Is the Caf president not from your side of africa? Why not just accept that you are not as good as west and north africans which is a pure fact.

      • Big Steve 4rm SA says:

It will take him a while to change certain cultures within CAF, but with that said I was not complaining. I’m actually on the fence if you read my post correctly….to put it plainly what I’m saying is its either Southern African players are not as good as their brothers from other mothers or CAF is biased! If either of my assertions is wrong please take me down the correct path of your opinion.

  5. km says:

” Naijaguy”,its not good to start hurtful debate. Everyone knows that the favourites for this award is mane and victor moses.

  6. Kapumbu best caf player of the year nominee thats a joke of the year.

  7. Leo says:

I might as well select alex Ng’onga

  8. Papa says:

Joke of the year! It shows the people who do the nominations are blind

  9. discipline says:

Indeed joke of the year, these selectors what are they smoking? Or maybe they are on some powerful medication with some serious side effects surely kabumbu, come on guys you can do far much better than that

  10. Naijaguy says:

I think Mweene is underated in Zambia.
He’s one player I respect in the Zambian team. His unfortunate undoing is playing in Africa. If he was a goalkeeper in a club in europe, he would have ganered more respect. This kapumbu guy was just listed so it doesn’t look as if zambia is omitted. Mweene should have been listed instead.

    • Achi says:

Spot on my brother. My mouth was dry when I saw Kapumbu’s name on that list. He was listed, I think, as a ‘political diversion.’ I’ve eyed Mweene for some time. I wish he were playing in a Nigerian league. He would have given our strikers real challenge, helping them to sharpen their skills. Also I think that if he plays in Nigeria, he could be easily marketed to Europe. That guy has no business playing in Southern Africa, where he’d continue to stagnate.

  11. km says:

You are right “naijaguy”,mweene is better than “kapumbu”. Mweene will remain one of the best goal keepers.Whenever our country Zambia is playing, the weakest position where the fullbacks, kapumbu and silwimbas, thereafter stophila, sunsu would clean their dirty. If not stophila, mweene would come and risk himself to clean the dirt caused by kapumbu and silwimbas. Our kapumbu is not among the best of 30 africans. When analysing soccer, its not good to be patriotic, because you will become bias and miss the real issues involved. The award has to go one of these three.(mane, victor moses and muhammad sara).these are the favourites.Just as mukamba, mwenda said,”theys still vacancies at the right back and left back of our nation team.”.Then Caf comes and pick our kapumbu,? .I think the selection is not genuine. My dear friends, just let you know that, I don’t hate kapumbu and silwimbas,It’s only that They Ave not impressed the Zambian soccer pundits.

  12. Zambian Buffalo says:

Kikikikik ati Kapumbu among 30 best players in Africa. Indeed it’s a big joke, yes he is my country men but that’s mediocre to our league. Let’s face it, Augustin Mulenga is far much better than Kapumbu, may be its the same reason why our coach keep on calling on Alex Ng’onga who to me is a pure attacking mid but the coach keep on playing him as striker.

  13. slim says:

This attitude by Zambians?! Kak comments. No wonder Kalu chose Onyango over Kalaba, saying your chance will come!!!!! People choose their countrymen, its a natural act. Otherwise you r transvesites.Dimwits.

    • Positive thinking says:

Awe Slim. You have to be objective. Kapumbu is our country man yes, and we are happy for him, but the fact still remains that he is not the most talented guy on the team.

  14. discipline says:

Yo bro @slim kalaba the master ba bola their kalu was biased, he messed up big time it’s not that blood is thicker than blood thing the lad is not any were near national team material its a mockery to Zambian football that this kapumbu lad is the best in the country this year, the boy all he does is cross even if he needs to pass,it’s a disgrece and when he overlaps he cannot even drop back fast enough to go and cover ati he is top 30 my neck patriotism on this one can hang.
