Kafue Celtic heading to Eastern Europe

Zambian side Kafue Celtic is heading to Georgia for a week.

The Lee Kawanu owned side will based Tbilisi for a week.

Georgia is hosting the Euro U21 Championship and 20 teenagers will be have the chance to watch the future stars from Belgium, Portugal and Netherlands.

Celtic will play games against Locomotive Tbilisi and other Georgian sides.

“I’m pleased to see that our MOU with Locomotive Tbilisi continues to bear fruit, and we’re proud to have an opportunity to showcase the talent we have at Kafue Celtic FC and Zambia as a whole,” Kawanu said.

“This is also an incredible opportunity for our players to catch the eye of Locomotive Tbilisi as well as scouts from different European clubs, who are there for the Euro championship.

The Celtic squad will comprise 20 players (aged 17-19) and 2 coaches.

“Ultimately this experience will be one that our players carry with them for the rest of their professional careers and that is very important to us as a club.”

Kafue Celtic has been one of Zambia’s conveyor belt for talent.

Chisamba Lungu, Patson Daka, Enock and Francisco Mwepu have all come from Celtic’s production line.
