Chipolopolo coach George Lwandamina has included Isaac Chansa and Christopher Katongo to the Chipololo squad that will go in camp to prepare for the team’s next assignments.
Clarifying the position on the two players who were influential in helping the Chipolopolo reach the quarter finals of the 2016 Rwanda CHAN tournament but where omitted on the team list released last week, Lwandamina said the two were part of the team and the only inclusion was Jacob Ngulube of Nkana.
Lwandamina clarified that the team called is not the final team for the Cosafa Castle Cup tournament.
On reports that he had distanced himself from the team called last week, Lwandamina said that the role of selecting national team players is his sole responsibility.
He added that the role of the Technical committee at the Football Association of Zambia is to advise the coach on players but the final decision to pick players lies with the National team Head coach.
He also stated the final team for the Cosafa tournament will be released later.
The national team will go in residential camp on May 1.
