Injury rules Shanice Kolala out of COSAFA U-17 Women’s tournament… As three others start light training
Luyando Foundation goalkeeper Shanice Kolala has been ruled out of the 2020 COSAFA U-17 Women’s tournament due to injury.
Head coach Kaluba Kangwa confirmed that the young goal minder will be out for three weeks hence ruling her out of the tournament.
Captain of the side Esther Siamfuko who had sustained an injury last week has now started light training together with YASA forward Melissa Mutaba and midfielder Blessed Mwaba.
“We have four injuries and these four are the goalkeeper, Shanice Kalola she is out of the tournament because according to the experts she will only recover after three weeks,” he said.
“Esther started her recovery and light training. Melissa injured her self, she is recovering very well and started light training today. Blessed has a calf muscle so also responding very well so we will see how it goes. The only who will not make it is Shanice and besides that, we have a lot of replacements in the team,” he added.
The Copper Princesses came out third at the inaugural COSAFA Women’s Championship and will be looking to improve on that feet. Kaluba’s lasses were later eliminated from the FIFA World Cup race by South Africa in March after having suffered a 3-2 aggregate loss.
The 2020 Cosafa under-17 tournament is tentatively set for South Africa next month in Port Elizabeth.
