Haluboono picks positives from inaugural COSAFA U-20 Women’s Cup outing
The Zambia Under-20 Women’s national team suffered a 2-1 loss to Tanzania in the final of the inaugural COSAFA Women’s Championship in South Africa yesterday.
Head Coach Charles Haalubono is optimistic that the experience from the tournament will be used as a blueprint for future tournaments
” It was a very good game the girls played very well its unfortunate that we lost, we have learned a lot in the first game with Tanzania but in today’s game our opponents played very well,” he said.
“This has helped us a lot because we have competed with different countries and gaining a lot of Experience from these games which has given us chance to know our players and improve on our mistakes,” he added.
Coach Haalubono praised Champions, Tanzania for their stellar performance throughout the competition
“Tanzania has been the best team in this tournament they have been playing so well because of having a good ball distribution so this has helped us a lot,” Haluboono said.
Zambia walked away as Runners Up of the Inaugural Under-20 Women’s COSAFA Cup following a 2-1 loss to Guest nation Tanzania.
Tanzania scored their goals through Opa Sanga and Protasia Mbunda while Loveness Malunga scored for Zambia, Her first in the tournament.
