Guston Mutobo’s Naive Power Tactics Led to One Laughable Display Against KYSA

Pressure on Power Dyamos coach Guston Mutobo is seriously mounting after a laughable display against KYSA FC in a week seven fixture played at 107 Godfrey Ucar Chitalu stadium. KYSA FC 2-nil win over Power Dyamos condemned them to their fourth loss of the season and that drops them deep into the valley of relegation.

The team selection the coach made left a lot to desire, with his number 9 jersey on, Dave Daka was deployed as a right back in a second consecutive game. It was not easy been in the same flank with explosive KYSA FC attacker Tresor Illunga Ntambua.

He looked so uncomfortable and barely contributed anything both in defense and attack, the question many will be asking is why play him at right back when he can not contribute anything, he was the weakness in the line of defense and that was evident when both goals scored by Moro Umenu and Daniel Chama were from his flank.

Tresor Illunga Ntambua started the build up for the first goal on the right flank before Moro Umenu completed the move by scoring from close range, the second goal was from a cross which was wiped in from that same flank.

Probably coach Mutobo was trying to utilize Daka’s pace going forward but that did not worked out as he was found in the defensive area most of the time. It was the same story with Kondwani Chiboni who was playing in an unfamiliar role, he was playing as a winger when he is a defender.

Power Dyamos most creative midfielder Rally Bwalya was also displaced as he was playing as a striker, he struggled to copy with his new position. Bwalya is the grand architect for the team, him playing further forward that left a void in terms of creativity around the middle of the park.

At some point he would drop very deep to pick up balls because their was no creative midfielder behind him. Otherwise, KYSA FC dominated the whole game and restricted Power Dyamos in the defense area. They played with character just to pick up valuable three points which moves them from the foot of the table.

All the Power Dyamos players lack confidence not even the captain Rally Bwalya would encourage his colleagues, no one on the field of play would speak to other players when there was a mistake.

The next four fixture for ‘Aba Yellow’ will be very crucial as they will be playing Buildcon FC, Forest Rangers FC, Kabwe Warriors and Zanaco FC. It will be satisfying if they can pick up 9 points from a possible 12 points but that requires the coach making right decisions when selecting his squad.
