Green Buffaloes recall defender Gift Wamundila as he pens an emotional farewell message

Defender, Gift Wamundila has been recalled by his parent club Green Buffaloes from his loan deal at Choma based side Green Eagles.

Wasema joined Eagles in January 2018 after spending another two years at Nakambala Leopards.

Wamundila took to Facebook to send his farewell message to the Kawale Boys fans. The hard-tackling center back said he will miss Eagles despite only spending a short time in Choma in his lengthy emotional post on Facebook.

“Let me say thank you so much to the command of Zambia National Service, I am really grateful to have been part of you although, for just a short time, truth be told I will miss this team.”

Wamundila is full of praise for Eagles Chairman Colonel Jim Kafumukache who he says has been a father to him during his time in Choma.

“Green Eagles chairman, wow, sir words alone can’t describe how much you have been a father to me and to the team, I say thanks to u sir from the bottom of my heart. The team manager, Major Chanda, sir honestly, I can’t ask for more from you, You were there for the team always, I salute you, sir.

The technical bench, you the coaches have played a big part in my career, not even a day I regret ever being your player, I thank you so much. I will forever live to remember the good times we shared. To my teammates, I’m leaving a family not a club, guys no matter the outcome of all this just know I will forever be your friend and brother. To all of you, much love for you guys.”

He was also quick to appreciate the fans who he believes are the best as they are always with the team both in good and bad times.

“The fans, Tonka twende, wow, You have played an important role for this team and not even a day have you ever abandoned the team, you were there for the team both in good and bad times, in short, you are the best.

To everyone that supported me through this journey, I thank you, may the good Lord richly bless you all, next stop, only God knows.”
