FOOTBALL TO REMAIN SUSPENDED WHILE GOLF AND TENNIS TO RESUME
Football fans around the country will need to wait a little longer for the FAZ/MTN Super League to return. Many had high hopes that the league will return after the president, earlier in the week had indicated that some income generating ventures would be opened in the wake of Covid-19.
President Edgar Lungu who was holding his third nation’s address this afternoon, directed sports like golf and tennis which does not involve physical contact of players and does not involve large gathering of fans to resume.
“Sporting activities such as golf and tennis, which do not involve physical contact between players where the sport is played in non-crowded space, can begin to be played but bars in those premises will remain closed.” His Excellence the Republican President said.
On the 20th March, the Football Association of Zambia suspended all league games following the out break of Corona virus to safeguard the interests of the players, the fans and the sponsors.
