The Football Association of Zambia, FAZ will next week unveil the new Chipolopolo Coach.
This is ahead of the 2023 AFCON draws that will be conducted on January 21, 2022.
FAZ Communications Manager Sydney Mugala told ZNBC Sports that all formalities have been concluded and what remains is to unveil the coach who is expected in the country this week.
Mugala is hopeful the new coach will guide the Chipolopolo to the next edition of the Africa Cup of Nations -AFCON.
Meanwhile Chipolopolo technical advisor Aljosa Asanovic is favourite to land the top coaching job.
The 55 year old featured for clubs in his homeland, England, Italy and Australia.
Asanović featured in the Euro 1996 and 1998 FIFA World Cup, in which Croatia won the bronze medal.
He was Slaven Bilic’s assistant coach for six years from 2006 to 2012 when he was in charge of the Blazers. The former Croatia midfielder then had coaching spells in Russia, Saudi Arabia, and Australia.
Busy hiring substandard coaches failing to qualify for any competitions. FAZ must account for wastage of taxpayers’ money
Can’t we pick a coach from were the football standards are high like England, German or perhaps Italy than just selecting any white man?
Am not impressed with the CV for the next potential caoch mentioned here.
I think, he can’t be better than Wedson Nyirenda or even Beston Chambeshi

Zambia deserves better; we need a no nonsense, well determined & seasoned coach. Three consecutive miss outs to Afcon for Zambia is greatly unbearable.
