The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) is mourning the passing of former Swedish Ambassador to Zambia Anna Maj Hultgård who served in Zambia from 2019 to 2022.
The late Hultgård was a staunch follower of sport and football in particular and was a regular feature at Chipolopolo and Copper Queens matches.
Last year, FAZ held a formal meeting with Hultgård and the Swedish Embassy where possibilities of enhancing cooperation between FAZ and the Swedish Football Association were opened.
“It is with deepest sadness that we inform about the passing of former Ambassador to Zambia, Ms Anna Maj Hultgård, who has left us after a period of illness,” the Embassy of Sweden in Zambia said in a statement.
“A Book of Condolence will be available at the Embassy of Sweden in Lusaka, from 16th to 21st November between 09:00-12:00.”
