Don’t judge us by this game – Lwandamina
Zesco United coach George Lwandamina says his side should not be judged by the one nil loss to Sensational Zanaco in the 2019/2020 Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity shield.
Lwandamina believes he has a good squad that does not reinforcing. The league Champions have brought in Ugandan striker Umaru Kasumba, Saviour Konkola from Prison Leopards and Zimbabwean midfielder Thambani Kamusoko since the derpature of star forward Lazarus Kambole two months ago.
“This team is just okay don’t judge us by this loss. Don’t even start thinking that we have to buy. Buy who? From where? Tell me which player should I buy?” he said.
“This game is just like my preplanned friendly games that I put in my preseason. You have to play more than five good training games but we had no time. If you look at how the league ended and how much time we had to rest to get players to zero check point but we had to say let them rest because it’s important for any player to rest, ” he added.
The former Chipolopolo coach also went on to say people should not be surprised if Zesco United goes on to win a fourth league title in a row.
“Preseason is always there and that is football. If you mis-manage it then you are gone. Don’t be surprised if we win a fourth Championship in a row because we are able to resist up to the last game of the season because of the preseason,” he said.
“Am not blaming preseason, We just in preseason so you wanted us to win this game then you were going to say it’s a good preseason? That was a very unfair question,” he added.
The league Champions were handed a one nil defeat by Zanaco on Saturday when the two teams met in the 2019/2020 Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity shield.
