The club has fully gone commercial and newly appointed board chair Dr. Victor Madhlopa is full of praise for the Zambian tactician.
“We know expectations are high with what we have done so far, bringing in a new coach and not just any other coach but an expatriate coach with experience,” Dr. Madhlopa told the Malawian media.
“He (Kabwe) has a history in football and with his expertise, we hope the team will start performing to the level of top teams.”
Dr. Madhlopa revealed that Kabwe’s type of football was the reason why they hired him and have set their sights on winning silverware.
“The type of football he (Kabwe) is bringing to the bankers is more of a duplicate to that of what we see in Zambia which is fast and direct football, with that approach we have a better chance to challenge for honors this season and probably the next and going forward,” Madhlopa said.
Kabwe will be assisted by two local coaches in Mc Donald Mtetemera and Mc Donald Yobe.
Under the tutelage of coach Abbas Makawa, Silver Strikers finished fourth in the 2019 TNM Super League season but managed to clinch the Airtel Top Eight title.
With the coming in over the former Zambia national team technical director Kabwe the Bankers are targeting league glory something they last tasted in 2014.
