COPPER QUEENS COLORFUL DEFENDER MARGARET BELEMU MASKS-UP YASA GIRLS AND COMMUNITY
Red Arrows and Copper Queens right back Margaret Belemu this afternoon handed over face masks to her former team and school YASA Girls and Community.
The recipients are community school pupils from Jesus Army and parents where she started from as a pupil and a player too.
Speaking in an interview with the ZamFoot Crew, Belemu said that what made her extend her hand to Jarmy is because of the support she received during her school days and the sponsored she received from Bishop Flemings Mtonga who is the proprietor of Jesus Army.
“I have done this because I was once a pupil at Jarmy under the Bishop’s sponsorship and also because that is where I started my footballing career. So I thought of doing that in a little way of Appreciating were I am coming from, ” Belemu said.
At the same event, The Community also received take-away Hungry Lion Food Vouchers under The My Pride Africa Project.
Margaret Belemu has been an integral part of the Copper Queens and her contribution to the game has seen her tremendously improve as a player with vast experience and this time around she was part of the team that defied a odds in Africa by booking a flight to Tokyo Olympics after they defeated the much-fancied Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon 2-1 in Lusaka and qualified based on away goals rule after the tie ended 4-4 on aggregate.
The Copper Queens will are expected to compete at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics in Japan.
