The Copper Queens have arrived safely in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of the 2026 TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Zambia departed Algiers’ Houari Boumediene International Airport at 20h50 aboard a chartered flight which they shared with the Algerian national team.
The Copper Queens landed at Rabat International Airport at 22h25.
The squad and the technical bench travelled on a chartered flight alongside the Algerian Women’s National Team after completing a week-long training camp in Algeria.
While in North Africa, Zambia played the hosts twice in pre- WAFCON international friendlies, drawing the first match 1-1 before losing the second 1-0.
Head coach Nora Häuptle has travelled with all the players called for the assignment except Fridah Mukoma who is expected to join the squad in Morocco.
The Nora Häuptle -tutored side has been drawn in Group C alongside Egypt, Nigeria and Malawi.
Zambia will begin its WAFCON campaign against Egypt on Tuesday, July 28, with kick-off set for 18h00 local time.
