The Zambia U17 National Team have qualified to the 8th edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
The Copper Princesses played out to a hard fought draw away in Morocco to secure qualification.
A 3-1 first leg win was enough to give the Carol Kanyemba coached side advantage.
Bwalya Namute Chileshe scored a hat-trick in the first leg to guide Zambia to a 3-1 wi. At the National Heroes Stadium.
The Copper Princesses put up a solid defensive performance limiting Morocco and came close to scoring a few times.
The qualification comes exactly ten years since the first U17 World Cup qualification by the side that had the likes of Barbra Banda , Hazel Natasha Nali, Margaret Belemu, Mary Wilimbe, Ireen Lungu etc.
The tournament will take place between 16th October and 3rd November, 2024 in the Dominican Republic.

Congratulations ladies you are lifting our country Zambia higher
Congratulations to our Princesses. You made it despite the hostilities that you faced in Morocco.
Congratulations Carol and TEAM!!!!! PEASE ALLOW ME TO ADD A VOICE TO What other good Zambians have said on the Copper Princesses qualification to the Under 17 Dominican Republic FIFA World Cup and particularly the performance that was exhibited on the field of play on that night of 15th June 2024. I just pray that ENTIRE TEAM that was in Morocco, FAZ, ALL NATIONAL SOCCER TEAMS and all those that pull strings of Soccer in Zambia will read this comment. 1.The defending that was exhibited by our girls was something out of this world! Carol, you have tutored the girls well. No one ever passed the ball back to the goalkeeper. MUKASHANA (LADY) and your team MULIBAKALI (YOU ARE GREAT) .Back passes have cost our other teams dearly. Maintain your philosophy and I see our l team conceeding no or very few goals, 2. Thee midfielders should be seen to picking up the balls from the defence and try as much as possible NOT TO RUSH UP PASSES to the strikers UNLESS they HASSLED. 3. DO NOT TARGET ONLY ONE STRIKER because she will be marked out and that will be it. In the game under discussion, Bwalya Namute Chileshe was the target for all the passes; EVEN the THROW-INS in the second half-in the closing stages. This trend IS SURE TO TIRE YOUR TOP STRIKER. This is taking your own player out of the equation as they say. That is, if your opponents don’t mark her out. I HOPE OTHER TEAMS WILL LEARN FROM YOU; ESPECIALLY ON DEFENDING. I wish you all the best as you prepare for Dominican Republic. ZAMBIA KU CALO!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats girls
