Chris Kaunda applauds his players after win away in Choma
Sensational Zanaco boss Chris Kaunda lauded his players for their hard work, commitment, and discipline during this Coronavirus epidemic.
Kaunda admitted being affected by the positive cases that the team recorded a week ago but was quick to praise the players who are available for their discipline and hard work.
The former Nkwazi gaffer also revealed that games involving him and current Green Eagles boss Aggrey Chiyangi will always be tough as they know each other well having worked together at Zambia U-17 national team.
“Independence stadium is not an easy place to come to. We have been struggling with fitness and we have been hit with a lot of players who are out of the team due to COVID-19 but luckily enough the players have stayed disciplined and they are following whatever we telling them to do and as a result, we have gotten what we wanted here,” Kaunda told the ZamFoot Crew.
” Chiyangi was my head coach at U-17 and we know each well so it is always supposed to be a tough game. We know what they are going to do.”
“With this COVID-19 Players are not fit and you expect a lot of players to play. The games are too close together hence we need to keep their level of fitness up and reserve there energy and not push them too much. We thank FIFA for bringing in five substitutions,” he added.
Roger Kola scored a 37th-minute penalty to hand the Bankers maximum points and their first win since the resumption of the MTN/FAZ Super League.
The victory over tricky Kawale Boys took Zanaco to 7th place and helps them move closer to the top four spots and gives them momentum for the final push for the league title as all teams get back to action this weekend.
Next up for Zanaco is a visit to Mazabuka to face the Sugar Boys, Nakambala Leopards a match that may earn them free points if Nakambala sticks to their earlier stance of not wanting to fulfill the remaining fixture
