The Zambia national team has been seeded ahead of tomorrow’s CHAN 2020 draw.

The Chipolopolo boys have been put in pot 1 together with the hosts Cameroon and former Champions Libya and Morocco.

DR Congo, Guinea, Mali, and Rwanda have been put in pot two with Pot 3 being composed of Uganda, Congo, Namibia and Burkina Faso.

Neighboring Zimbabwe, Niger, Togo and East African giants Tanzania make up pot 4.

The draw will be held tomorrow, 17th February 2020, at 19:00 local time and 20:00hrs Zambian time, at the Palais Polyvalent des Sports de Yaoundé in Yaoundé.

Chipolopolo qualified for the tournament by eliminating Botswana and Eswatini both 3-2 on aggregate. Nkwazi forward Emmanuel Chabula was the top goalscorer with 3 goals.

Zambia’s best performance at the CHAN tournament was a third-place finish when they beat Senegal in the third and fourth play-off in 2009. In 2016 and 2018 the Copper Bullets reached the quarter-final stage.

A number of Zambian players have come to the lime during the tournament. Given Singuluma came out as the top goalscorer at the inaugural tournament in 2009 and made a move to TP Mazembe.

In 2018 Lazarus Kambole made his debut for the national team and scored two goals at the tournament announcing his arrival on the international scene.

The 6th edition of the CHAN tournament will take place between 4th and 25th April 2020 in Cameroon.
