The Zambia national team has shown some recovery on the FIFA ladder gaining three places to rank 71st from last month’s 74th position.
Coming from a 2 – 1 win over lower ranked Kenya and a draw with Gabon who are ahead on the ranking, Zambia powered past South Africa, Uganda and Burkina Faso to move into 16th position in Africa.
The latest rankings have arrested a free fall by the Chipolopolo whose only other upward movement was in April.
Zambia this month play Egypt (ranked 9th in Africa) in a game that will weigh towards next month’s rankings.
