Chipolopolo coach hunt gets new boost

The Football Association of Zambia search for a new coach Chipolopolo coach has received a big boost after the Ministry of Sports approved a new salary package and gave the Association a go-ahead to recruit a new coach. Minister of Sports honorable Moses Mawere reaffirmed government’s support to the Association maintaining their US$10 000 allocations for the coach.

Football house announced they have secured an extra $15 000 which will add up on the $10 000 to make up a package of US $ 25 000 which is needed to recruit a quality coach.

“The Ministry of Sports has sanctioned the Football Association of Zambia’s endeavor to recruit a quality national team coach by approving a US$25,000 package.

Following a meeting between the Ministry of Sports, Youth and Child Development and FAZ leadership, the two parties have made steps towards the recruitment of the Zambia National Team Coach.

Minister of Sports Honourable Moses Mawere has re-affirmed government’s financial support towards FAZ and maintained its US$10,000 allocation for the Chipolopolo coach.

Further, the Ministry of Sports has given FAZ a go-ahead to recruit a coach as soon as feasibly possible.” read part of the statement from FAZ made available to the ZamFoot Crew.

The Association has also appealed to the business community to come on board to improve the odds of getting an even better coach.

“However, FAZ wishes to appeal to the corporate world to come on board and ensure that more support is secured to towards getting a top-notch coach. The availability of additional resources will help FAZ secure a coach at a competitive fee.

FAZ has asked the football family to support the cause towards securing a coach that will take Zambia forward. The Association acknowledges the support government has continued to render towards football.”

The Chipolopolo top job has been vacant since February after the Association decided not to renew the contract of Belgian coach Sven Vandenbroeck at the end of his 9-month contract as Chipolopolo boss.

The hindrance to hiring a top coach has been the low salary available to the Association US $10 000.

    At USD 12,000.00, USD 8000.000 and USD 5000.00 kindly employ Zambian coaches. Foreign coach will be another flop and failure to qualify for both Afcon 2021 and wc2022.
