Chembo resigns as Zesco United boss

Zesco United interim Coach Tenant Chembo has left his position at the club after he tendered his resignation shortly after guiding the team to a one nil win over Nkana.

The club confirmed the development through a press statement issued by club secretary general Richard Katongo and made available to Zambianfootball.co.zm

“ZESCO United Football Club has parted company with the Club’s Interim Coach Tenant Chembo. The coach announced his resignation today after the game involving Zesco and Nkana Football Clubs in Kitwe.”

The Club has wished Chembo well and are expected to name a new head coach in the next 48 hours.

“The club wishes Tenant Chembo all the best in his future endeavors. The team and fans will be informed of the new appointment on Tuesday, 10 April 2018.”

Zamfoot crew understands that the long serving Zesco United (Assistant) coach is in the running to join Buildcon after they fired Italian trainer Arena Guilglemo.

  1. Zesco should have given chembo a chance in all fairness. He won the league & he has guided the team to the group stage of the champions league this season…what more do you want from the man? I think someone somewhere doesn’t like chembo!

    • @Dynamite you are right. A coach that guides a team to the group stage of the Champions league can´t remain as an interim coach. Zesco management have really played stupid on this one

  2. Zesco united management,think twice this man deserve a permanent place as Head coach he guided the team champions league and won the MTN league.give him what he wants…
