Charles Zulu eyes having his best season yet
Sensational Zanaco winger, Charles Zulu is eying having the best season of his career when the 1019/2020 season kicks off.
Zulu has been off the pitch for close to a year due to an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear injury which made him miss the entire transitional league. The Zanaco winger wants to score a lot of goals as well.
“I want to score more goals this season because that’s my job. I want to play my best season yet,” Zulu told Zanaco media team.
The speedy winger marked his return during the International Friendly match against Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa on the 24th of July this year and was also part of the squad that won the 2019 Samuel ‘Zoom’ Ndhlovu Charity Shield showing flashes of his old self in both encounters.
When asked about the recovery process, Zulu opened up saying he was happy to be back as the road to healing was not without frustrations.
“I would like to thank the Almighty God for healing me. It is a great feeling to be back on the pitch,” he said.
“The healing process took longer and it was not easy, a few frustrations here and there, but here I am, playing again which is what I wanted,” he added.
Zanaco starts their 2019/2020 campaign with a visit to Levy Mwanawasa Stadium to face defending champions, Zesco United and Charles Zulu is expected to be part of the team.
