Cape Town City confirm Justin Shonga acquisition… As the Zambian pens a three and half year deal
Zambian striker Justin Shonga has joined Cape Town City on a three and half year deal the club has confirmed.
As earlier reported by the ZamFoot Crew, Shonga will be joining country mate Charles Zulu in Cape Town. His deal will keep him at Cape Town Stadium till June 2024.
Cape Town City has reached a transfer agreement with TTM for the acquisition of Justin Shonga. The Zambian international center-forward signs a deal until June 2024.
His departure from TTM comes just two months after joining the Limpopo-based outfit a club he did not fancy in the first place ad made it very clear in an interview following his unveiling.
Shonga has played seven matches across all competitions for Tshakhuma this season and hit the back of the net once in the process.
Shonga’s career in the PSL started when he joined Pirates in September 2017 then under current Chipolopolo Boys head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic and was a key player for the Sea Robbers between 2017 and 2019.
Shonga was influential as the Buccaneers finished second in the Premier Soccer League in the 2017/18 season and 2018/19 campaign, while also reaching the 2018 Nedbank Cup final.
The Zambian however fell out of favor late in 2019 and struggled for game time under coaches Rhulani Mokwena and Josef Zinnbauer. He now has a chance for a fresh start to regain his form like Augustine Mulenga at Amazulu.
