CAF Champions League hero awarded $170 at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport

Power Dynamos goalkeeper Lawrence Mulenga was awarded by fans about $170 (K4,000) following his heroics in Sunday’s CAF Champions League match against Asec Mimosas in Abidjan.

Mulenga saved a penalty as the Zambian Champions beat Asec 5-4 on penalties to advance to the last 32 of the CAF Champions.

Despite Asec winning 1-0 in regular time, the match went to penalties as the two sides were tied 1-1 on aggregate.

Scores of Power Dynamos fans throned Lusaka’s Kenneth Kaunda International Airport to welcome their victorious team.

The team will set base in Lusaka ahead of this weekend’s clash against Muza in Mazabuka.

After the international break, attention will shift to the CAF Champions League.

The Kitwe giants will be away in Uganda against Vipers SC on the weekend of 17-19 October in the first leg.

A week later, Power Dynamos will host Vipers at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola with the winner advancing to the lucrative group stage.
