Riverplate FC has announced the departure of Head Coach Bupe Chewe, who has stepped down from his role after just five months in charge.
Chewe, who took over the reins in July 2024, cited inseparable differences with the club’s executive as the reason for his decision to leave.
Under Chewe’s leadership, Riverplate FC, playing their inaugural season in the Zambia Premier League National Division, currently sits in 8th position on the table with 17 points from 14 matches.
The team had shown promise, following their historic promotion from the provincial division one playoffs last season.
Chewe brought a wealth of experience to Riverplate FC, having previously served as the Head Coach of Livingstone Pirates and as the first assistant coach at Lumwana Radiants and Prison Leopards.
Despite his departure, he leaves the club having laid a solid foundation for their first campaign at the national level.
In an interview with the Zamfoot crew, Chewe expressed his gratitude to the players and fans for their support during his tenure and wished the club success in its future.
