Blog: ZSL questions that need answers
The MTN/FAZ Super League is going to resume next month with strict adherence to Covid-19 restrictions.
Teams have been allowed to start training in small groups by July 1st before which they will meet FAZ officials and iron out the finer details of how this will be executed.
With the league making a return after a three months break here are a few questions from the ZamFoot Crew:
Will Forest Rangers ‘Fole Malembe’ continue making profits from their tree plantation at the expense of other Zambian teams?
The pensioners, Napsa stars will they continue giving pensions to ZSL teams. Will the top two, Run the forest (forest rangers) and commission of inquiry instituted to make sure all ZSL teams receive their retirement packages (Napsa stars) continue with their surprise package by continuing to occupy the first top two spots on the log?
Will the Kawale boys ‘Tonka Twende’ into CAF competitions next season or now they’ve repaired the ignition section si sunka mulamu manje, starter motor banagula ni one kick ninshi yalila. Will Green eagles again play CAF competition football for the third time in succession?
Will zesco United, waikatako wapya (If you touch you get burnt) going to make it a quadruple league triumph concurrently or maybe load-shedding has made ZSL teams start disrespecting them such that they’ve started downing their pylons hence cutting supply to ZSL teams?
Will Nkana also called likulu (The big one) continue with their run of good form and probably win the league or they’ll get demoralized with the news that Mopani has reduced its annual funding to the team or they’ll show us what likulu means by putting the sponsorship issue aside and do wonder. Are they going to act mature by not letting anyone know their story? Bushe izankala nkani yakuchipinda ya sponsorship?
The bankers, Big strong and reliable, Is Zanaco football club going to be reliable with their good form which they exhibited after appointing Chris Kaunda as their coach by returning to CAF Competitions next season?
Powerful Power Dynamos aka Abayellow or power 90 are they going to take us back to the 90s when they where a force to reckon with or that’s past glory and now its just another ordinary side?
Njanji ni njanji, Walya nganga ndiye walya nkuku walya kake aliye mulandu, yes will are in Kabwe now.
The People’s team, Kabwe warriors, with their scintillating form are they going to make it to the top four to make up for the painful defeat in the last game of the transitional league at 107 Godfrey Ucar Chitalu stadium by the Airmen, Red arrows with which a win would have made them automatically play CAF champions league but alas Paul Katema had other ideas.
Bruce Musakanya led Airmen, Are they going to improve given that their form before the league was haunted wasn’t impressive and very much depended on an exceptional 40-year-old James Chamanga? , Has coach Chisi Mbewe found the solution? Will the team hit the group running.
The ZamFoot Crew has been reliably informed that they’ve fixed all the aircraft engines apa ni no-fly zone manje.
The not so sweet Sugar Boys or Nakambala Leopards have nothing to play for than survival in order to remain in the top tier league of Zambian football. Have they made a master plan for survival or will they go down?
Lusaka Dynamos, the Elite, Will they hit the top 4 this season to pay for last season incident were FIFA docked them 6 points for players contract obligation. If they were not docked those 6 points they would have automatically played CAF Champions League. Let’s hope they will make up for the pain of last season but we have to wait and see.
Will Baba Basile continue his scintillating form in front of goal and has Chris Mugalu finally found his goal scoring boots?
Buildcon made their CAF confederation debut but now the question may just be that are they going to survive relegation? Let’s wait to see. One thing we can tell them is to pull up their socks cause we still need kopala swag mu ZSL. Team kopala temunobe like their fans like to say.
Lumwana radiants are also vying to remain in the MTN/FAZ Super League for yet another season, lets see if they will again pull it off or this time they will go back to Division One?
Kansanshi Dynamos with the 2017 U-20 AFCON winner Beston Chambeshi at their helm, Are they going to make it in the top 10 of the league as they are a difficult team to beat at home although they have recorded too many draws and their away form is quite poor.
Maite awina icungulu, Is Mighty Mufulira Wanderers going to win all the remaining games and leave it late to secure safety or they will have to be schooled at Eden University next season.
Wanderers are trying to be might again and defeat relegation and they have a lot of work to do but never say never in Bola Yapa Zed as it is full of surprises, Otherwise iyama books yaku Eden epo ili
KYSA is another team fighting relegation with plenty much to offer in terms of playing skill from the likes of Daniel Chama who has been in fantastic form despite his club not doing well. Mwitusha fweka bane mu ZSL.
Green Buffaloes, the Go boys fight and conquer, Are they going to conquer every team and finding themselves in top 4 and back in CAF competitions?, Let’s see what coach Bilton and Christopher Katongo have up their sleeves this time around.
The Zambia police troops or Nkwazi as they are known, Are they going to make the Zambia super league a peaceful league through maintaining order and providing security to every team in the MTN super league by surviving relegation?
Let’s wait and see what Mwami learned at Lilayi.
So many questions that need answers but in the end will have to patiently wait for the league to resume to get our answers.
