ABSA CUP ROAD MAP ANNOUNCED, FINAL SET FOR HEROES STADIUM

The draws for the quarter-finals of the ABSA Cup will take place next month on a date to be announced. This follows the confirmation of the eight teams that have qualified for this year’s competition.

According to a circular from the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) made available to the ZamFoot Crew, The Competition will start with an official launch and the clubs are expected to send representatives.

“An official launch of the ABSA Cup for the 2019/2020 season will be conducted at a date, time and place to be communicated. We expect each club to send their Club Captains, Coaches, and Official to be available at the launch event.”

The Dates and venues are for the Competition have however been confirmed with the quarter-finals set to be held on 21st and 22nd March 2020 at Nkoloma Stadium while the semi-finals will be held on 9th May 2020 at Arthur Davies Stadium

The final will be held on 13th June 2020 at the National Heroes Stadium.

This year’s competition will have six teams from the Super League and two from the National Division One. The qualified teams are Zesco United FC, Green Eagles FC, Nkana FC, NAPSA Stars FC, Kabwe Warriors FC, Forest Rangers FC, Kitwe United FC, and Young Green Eagles FC.

Zesco United are the defending champions of the ABSA Cup having hammered, Sensational Zanaco 4-1 in the final last year at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
