28 goals in 24! Goal Machine! Daka scores fastest hatrick ever in Bundesliga
Red hot Patson Daka made history again after he scored the fastest ever hattrick in the Austrian Bundesliga on Sunday.
The 22 year old scored within a space of 8 minutes to help Bundesliga leaders Red Bull Salzburg to a 3-1 victory over fourth placed SK Sturm Graz. His compatriot Enoch Mwepu also completed the match for Salzburg as a right sided midfielder.
The Kafue native gave Salzburg the lead in the third minute and got his second goal in fifth minute.
The former Kafue Celtic, Nchanga Rangers and Power Dynamos forward then completed his hattrick in the 11th minute.
Sturm Graz pulled a goal back in the 13th minute.
Daka has taken his tally for the season to 23 goals from 19 league appearances. He has started 15 matches in the league.
Last season, the Zambian forward scored 24 league goals in 31 appearances.
The CAF 2017 African Young Player of the Year has also grabbed 5 goals in 5 cup matches taking his tally to 28 goals in 24 club matches.
During the international break, Daka scored 4 goals in 2 matches for Zambia to end the Cameroon 2021 African Cup of nations qualifers as joint top scorer with five goals. Daka got 5 goals in 3 AFCON qualifiers having missed the other three matches through injury and under-23 engagement.
Daka joined Salzburg in 2016 initially on loan from Zambian second tier side Kafue Celtic. His move was turned permanent after his heroics at the CAF 2017 Under-20 African Cup of Nations in Lusaka.
He has gone to win the four successive Bundesliga titles.
