The 2024 ABSA Cup kicked off on Saturday afternoon with two matches at Nkana stadium in Kitwe.
In the early kick off, Mwaimwena Strikers edged Ndola United via 9-8 on penalties after playing to a 2-2 draw.
Mwaimwena strikers will face Power Dynamos in the Round of 16 for a place in the quarter-finals.
The second match of the day saw Northern Province side Malalo Police edge Muchinga Blue Eagles 1-0 thanks to an Obed Simutenda strike.
Malalo Police will face Red Arrows in the Round of 16.
The round of 16 matches will take place on the Easter Weekend while Quarter-Finals will take place on the weekend of April 13th and 14th on the Copperbelt.
The semi-finals will take place on Lusaka on the weekend of April 27th and 28th with the final set for May 7 on the Copperbelt.
