ZSL WEEK 7 PREVIEWS: NAPSA STARS VS GREEN BUFFALOES
It’s a midlands derby of sorts to be played out between 8th placed Napsa Stars and 9th placed Green buffalos football clubs in a crunch week 7 Zambian Super League encounter for supremacy and possibly a higher log position with the league still being so tight at 6 games in.
The two teams are separated by a single point making all to play for with both teams having had a fair enough start in the season and are now looking to kick on and climb up the log and challenge for those CAF slots.
Based on all six games the two teams are neck and neck with Napsa’s point ahead of the Zambia Army funded team being as a result of a win ahead of two draws that the Buffaloes have.
Napsa have won 3 of 6 and lost the remaining half leaving them at a point tally of 9 while Green Buffaloes has won two, drawn two and lost two in the same stretch of games to get them to an 8-point tally.
All form aspects taken to account the teams are fairly neck and neck with the Pensioners having their whiskers ahead by more games won.
In the run Napsa Stars have beaten Nchanga Rangers at home, lost away to Power Dynamos, got beaten by Nkana at the National Heroes Stadium, won against Nkwazi and Zesco United before losing last week to Builcon in Ndola
Right in the 6 game run GBFC thumped Mufulira Wanderers, lost to Konkola Blades and Nakambala Leopards, drew with Nchanga Rangers, beat Nkana narrowly right before drawing against Zesco United in last week’s dramatic 4 goal thriller.
HEAD TO HEAD
In this tie long term history slightly favors Green Buffaloes while more recent ties show a tilt toward Napsa Stars with Buffaloes having not won against the pensioners through the 2016 season.
In the last 7 games between the two Napsa Stars have won twice while Buffaloes have won 3 times with the remaining two encounters running out in draws.

The stats may be a bit skewed due to home games played at Heroes for TV purposes which is why the home is in inverted comas.
Given the propensity to score goals even away from home by Buffaloes an expected goal forecast would have it at a goal for Buffaloes and a goal for Napsa Stars in most scenarios with the odd one having Napsa Scoring twice.
