ZSL Week 10 Preview: Nkana vs Kabwe Warriors

This afternoon 5th placed Nkana face off with a not so magnificent Kabwe Warriors who are chipping away at the moment in 19th place in a Zambain Super League week 10 Ficture at the Nkana Stadium in Wusakili, Kitwe.

FORM GUIDE

The home team will be looking to make it 3 wins it a row, gain the necessary momentum and climb up the log to challenge for the top slot having taken wins in their last two games against Lumwana Radiants at the Nkana Stadium and Real Nakonde all the way north in Muchinga province.

A mountain to climb for the away team who have yet to win a game this year having drawn 6 of their 8 played games and had one game postponed because of their opponents who had CAF engagements. They have avoided loss in 3 games running and will be looking to finally go one better however unlikely the pre-game narratives will make it seem.

So, based on form it’s an already written tale of the unstoppable force defeating the immovable object.

HEAD TO HEAD

In the last 6 games between the two Nkana have had undisputable dominance over the magnificent people’s team having won 5 of the last 6 and still kept an unbeaten streak in the fixture.

Kabwe’s Last point againt Nkana came as far back as May 2013 when the warriors held Nkana to a goalless draw at the Nkana Stadium in Kitwe. Could today be the day to turn this around and get the season started?

BY THE NUMBERS

In 9 games Nkana have scored 14 times split into 7 at home in 4 matches and 7 away in 5 matches.

Warriors have scored 6 goals in 8 games, split into 6 at home in 4 matches and 2 away in the same number of matches played

Nkana Have conceded 9 times in 9 games averaging one goal per game with 4 of the goals being conceded at home in the 4 games played and 5 in the 5 away games.

Warriors have conceded 8 goals. A similar goal concession rate in total yet the goals are split into 6 at home and 2 away.

Nkana have kept 3 clean sheets one of which is at home in the 4 home games which is in average one clean sheet every 4 games played at the Nkana Stadium.

Warriors have kept 2 clean sheets surprisingly both coming in away games. Which again plays into the opportunity they have to turn this around or take a point away at the home of a title contender.

Nkana have not failed to score at home, while warriors have failed to score away twice so far this year.

The game is set for a regular 3PM kick off and we will be on Facebook for live updates during the match.
