Zesco to receive trophy as FIFA President congratulate the Ndola side
MTN Super League Champions Zesco United will receive the trophy on Saturday at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium after their clash against Red Arrows.
With the league already sealed as they are 8 points clear of second placed Nkana, George Lwandamina’s side will be playing just for pride.
Zesco get finish on 86 points should they win their remaining two fixtures.
Arrows are on an eleven unbeaten run since Chisi Mbewe took over from Honour Janza.
Meanwhile The Football Association of Zambia(FAZ) President, Andrew Kamanga has congratulated Zesco United for winning their 7th Super League title.
“On behalf of the Football Association of Zambia(FAZ) and the entire Executive, may I take this opportunity to congratulate Zesco United for winning their 7th Super league title. Zesco United’s success is testament of the significant investment the Zesco Management has ploughed into the club.”
The Association is proud of the achievements the club has made in a decade and half.
“It is not surprising that Zesco has dominated our league in the last 12 years. The club has made positive investments in the best players the game can provide. They have further made great strides in investing in the best technical staff the game has to offer,” Kamanga said.
FAZ wishes to take this opportunity to urge Zesco United Management to continue working tirelessly in their quest to take the club to international heights.
“We are proud of this club’s success at domestic and international level. Zesco continues to be a significant envoy in the CAF competitions where the club has become a force to be reckoned with. I wish to urge Zesco management to continue developing the Zambian game through the club.”
Meanwhile, FIFA President Gianni Infantino, has also congratulated Zesco United for winning their fourth Championship in the last five seasons.
In a letter to the FAZ President, Mr Infantino has praised the Zesco United Management for a job well done.
“lt gives me great pleasure to send my warmest congratulations to Zesco United FC for their fourth championship title in the last five seasons and seventh overall,” Infantino said.
This title is the result of the determination of everyone involved and my congratulations go to the players, the coach, the administration, the entire technical and medical staff as well as the fans for this great achievement
