Zesco off to Angola for make or break CAF tie

Zambian Champions Zesco United have left for Angola ahead of this Friday’s CAF Champions League game against Primero de Agosto.
The Ndola side are placed bottom of Group D after a return of 2 points from a possible 9.
Zega Mambo lost to Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel on match day 1 before draws at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium against Mbabane Swallows and Primero de Agosto.
With two clubs expected to qualify to the quarter finals from each group, the Ndola side still has chance to salvage their continental campaign.
A win in Luanda will take the George Lwandamina coached side to 5 points, 2 behind leaders Etoile who will be in action against Mbabane in Tunis on Friday night as well.
The Swazi side are currently second with 4 points while Primero de Agosto is also on 2 points.
In order to come back with positive results Lwandamina has named a strong and experienced squad.

In my opinion, as long as ZESCO don’t find a good replacement for Idriss Mbombo, they are going no where this year. Their strikers have been misfiring like a car’s distributor with water in it.
Their midfield is good, while their defence is solid, but what can you do if you are only defending?
I wish them well and we shall keep supporting our own. Hoping thy know that a loss or draw in this game will drop the curtain in this year’s assignment.
But Zesco’s most undoing act was releasing Cletus Chota Chama. He controlled midfield play very well for Zesco.
