Zesco, Al Hilal Obayed clash in doubt
Zesco United’s CAF Confederations Cup final group game against Al Hilal Obayed is in doubt following the suspension of Sudan by World Soccer governing body FIFA on Thursday afternoon.
The Ndola and Al Hilal are set to clash in the final group game this Sunday at Ndola’s Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Al Hilal arrived in Ndola on Thursday, and the news from Switzerland and Khartoum is a big blow for a club which has just being playing in the top flight for 2 years.
The Sudanese club lead the group on 10 points and has already booked their quarter final place.
Both clubs are waiting on a communication from CAF on whether the game should go ahead or not.
Should the match not take place, then Zesco will go through owing to the fact that all the matches Al Hilal played will be nullified.
