Zanaco turn to Barclays finally

Zanaco FC finally claimed Barclays Cup after a 2-1 extra time win over Napsa Stars on Saturday at Heroes Stadium.

Charles Zulu came off the bench to inspire Zanaco to bank Barclays Cup for the first time as he was involved in both goals.

The boy from Kum’awa Youremember Banda put the pensioners 1 nil up a minute into the second half.

Off the bench, the pacy and diminutive Zulu was fouled in the penalty box by Derrick Mwansa and Zambia’s top referee Janny Sikazwe pointed to the spot in the 83rd minute.

Just like in the league Felix Nyainde came up against the dramatic goalkeeper Masosa Bola and the Zanaco striker converted by sending the Congolese into the wrong direction.

The match went into extra time and again it was Zulu the architect after he sent in a teasing cross which Isaac Chansa nodded home to make it 2-1.
