CCC: Zanaco a good guage for Zesco ahead of Supersport United clash – Owino
Zesco United defensive kingpin David Owino believes Saturday’s big clash against Zanaco will be the best test for Zesco United ahead of next weekend’s 2017 CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinal away date against SuperSport United in Pretoria.
Zesco United who have failed to pick up maximum points in their last two games and will be looking to change their fortunes.
The Kenyan big centre back believes Saturday’s encounter will help them access their readiness for CAF Confederation cup quarter final encounter with Supersport United.
“Zanaco is the best game to gauge ourselves.If you look at their game,it is almost similar to that of SuperSport United….too much wing play and counter-attacking football,” Owino told Zescounitedfc.com
“They are tough opposition more so when they are playing in their backyard,” He added.
Zesco and Zanaco drew 0-0 in the first leg meeting at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on May 28.
“For sure for is not going to be a walk in the park but as Zesco, we are and up to the challenge so as to achieve our goals of this year which is to win the trophy.”
Zesco play Supersport in their first leg meeting on September 16 in a 19h 00 kickoff at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria.
The final leg is set for September 23 at Levy Stadium
