Zanaco duo out of Junior Chipolopolo friendly against Amajita

Zanaco duo Fashion Sakala and Boyd Musonda will not be part of Zambia Under-20’s Sunday’s friendly match against South Africa at Nkoloma Stadium.

The two teenangers have been named in the bankers’ CAF Champions League first leg tie against APR of Rwanda.

Both Sakala and Musonda are key members of the the Wedson ‘Wada Wada’ Nyirenda  and Beston Chambeshi drilled Under-20.

Musonda, a holding midfielder rose to stardom at the 2016 Cosafa Cup and showed a knack for goals with 2 super strikes as he helped Zambia to gold at the regional tournament.

Fashion has just returned from a 2 weeks trial with Russian side Spartak Moscow Youth side, and the players’ handlers claim that he has been offered a three year deal after impressing.

In the absence of Fashion and Austrian based striker Patson Daka, arguably the youngest member of the squad Joseph Phiri will start against Amajita on Sunday.

  1. If I may ask who is in charge of marketing and publicity of this under20 tournament that we are host?zamfoot can you try to find out our readiness of this tournament its look like our foolish, starbon and useless kamanga is been forced to host this tournament because they is no proper publicity

  2. Why play against south Africa instead of playing against the west Africans because our opening games is against the west African this is what we call poor planing.we have played against south africa at cosafa last time why not play against another opponent

  3. I think faz has done it’s best when it comes to preparing the boys for the tournament, having the boys playing with European clubs is better than West African countries, as for me the boy’s are ready for the tournament. and taking about the publication of the tournament is where they are a little behind but all in all preparing is better than publication.

Publication and a show of pride in hosting a tournament of this magnitude is what Zambia lucks! An embarrassment to say the least. The players may be prepared but for as long as there is no vibe and the atmosphere isn’t right. It will be a dull and I dare say the worst hosted U.20 Afcon.

Am not suprised that not so many Zambians know that we are even hosting.

The poor organization from who ever is responsible; be it Faz &/ min of sports is unacceptable.

This is a matter of national pride. No matter how insignificant the tournament may seem to others!

Africa is watching & owing to the poor organization of this tournament. l can confidently say , ‘we shall never host any competition at an international level that is soccer related.’

NO PRIDE whatsoever! Nothing to show for. Wait & see vinyau & dancing groups that will embarrass the nation at the opening ceremony.

  5. Bsimms well said these are the things that we should bring out to the people who run our football in our country unlikely some people on this blogger who always worship kamanga instead of telling him the truth frankly speaking the publicity and the marketing is very poor its only few people in zambia who knows that we are hosting the junior Afcon just go around the street and ask the people you will be shocked with they response

  6. Martinez says:

Undefeated Guru! Spare Kamanga in this one. The Major stakeholders in this tournament are GRZ and Caf. Faz are just helping to facilitate. FAZ has done their best to prepare the boys coz they are participants just like the other seven FAs.
