Zambia U20 win silver at Korea Adidas invitation tournament

The African champions were beaten to the Crown on head to head after they were tied both on points and goal difference with the eventual winner Korea Republic.

Zambia head back home wit two wins and a loss to Korea Republic at the tournament.

The hosts who played against South American outfit Ecuador in a late kick off after the young Chipolopolo had walloped Honduras were beaten 2 – 0 by Ecuador

This meant that Ecuador, Zambia and Korea all ended the tournament on 6 points.

Zambia scored a total of 7 goals in three games conceding 5 times while Korea also scored 7 goals conceding 5 times.

This meant that the two teams could only be separated on head to head which fell in the favor of the hosts as they annihilated the Zambian boys 4 – 1.

Ecuador had a goal difference of one while Honduras lost all their games and were not in the final reckoning.

This is the third medal the team has picked since it was assembed in December 2016 after they bagged the Cosafa Championship and the Africa Cup of Nations trophy.

  7. This is what I have been advocating for that ten players from this under20 should be promoted to the senior team but some people here were calling me names these boys have prove to the world that they are the best under20 in the history of zambian football we have the crisis at the national team we only have few players like chisamba, sunzu, mweene, mbesuma, sinkala, kalaba we need to mix young and the experience

  8. Well-done Zambia Under 20! You have shamed “footballdemon” wailer! Well done Quicksilver, you got us Silver! You deserve the best. If we were to put “footballdemon” on position 9 he would not even score one goal yet he is an “expert!” He is an expert at wailing!
