Zambia set to face Cameroon in a friendly

The Chipolopolo Boys are likely to play Cameroon in an international friendly ahead of the CHAN tournament.

Assistant coach Aggrey Chiyangi told Zambianfootball.co.zm in an interview that the match will be played in Morocco.

“Cameroon has approached us for a friendly and should both parties agree then it will be played in Morocco,” the Green Eagles coach said on Saturday morning.

There has been an outcry in the some quarters that there won’t be a repeat of the Under-20 fiasco who went into a tournament without a warm match.

The friendly match against the Indomitable Lions is likely to be played between January 4th and January 12, 2018.

In the last 12 months, the two countries have come head to head twice. Both games ended in stalemates.

The team is expected to regroup next week on Tuesday and travel to the Western Province the following day.

Goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata and defender Isaac Shamujompa will also return next week while Augustine Mulenga might not be available after he processed his Visa to Egypt unless if FAZ General Secretary Ponga Liwewe managed to convince him to put his trip to Cairo on hold.

Namibia, Ivory coast and Uganda are Zambia’s opponents in Group B.

  1. Please ba faz advise the young man,I feel Egypt is not good enough for him.Tell him to wait until the Chan tournament is over, am sure he will get something better.

  2. Auga sure CHAN will have a lot of clubs eyeing on the proceedings to recruit the players who will impress in their clubs. Is going as free agent or there is an agent attached to his departure? I smell some external forces are interested in money and not the country where the player is coming from . Any way Auga all the best but it could have been better you expose yourself during CHAN.

  3. Augustine you made a good move. This is the right time for you to leave. Do not listen to what people say. You are the master of your own destiny. Egyption league is very competetive and good labour remuneration. If you continue working hard you wont regret. Coaches and other unscruplous football adminstration have bad tendance of blocking players who are seeking for greener pastures thus why zambia have few professionals. And this does not develop zambian football. Please give chance to other players who are available. Hands off on mulenga’s move.
