Zambia to host Cosafa U20 men’s tournament

Zambia will host the 2017 COSAFA U-20 Youth Championship, after the Football Association of Zambia FAZ confirmed their willingness to host.

The annual championship is traditionally held in December but FAZ will await Cosafa to confirm the dates.

This will be the first time Zambia whill host the tournament which has predominantly been hosted in South Africa.

Out of the 20 tournaments that have been played since inception, SAFA has hosted 12 of them with the rest Lesotho, Botswana, Swaziland and Malawi.

The young Chipolopolo are the current holders of the regional title and will be looking to continue the dominance in the region as the search for a team that could emulate the class of 2017 begins.

The last tournament was played in South Africa.
