U20 Afcon Updated: Young Lions ready to roar

The Cameroon U20 men’s national soccer team on Thursday morning pulled off a 1 – 1 draw with Super Division side Red Arrows with the young Lions coach declaring his lads ready for he tournament after the game.

Though the hosts looked favorites, the Cameroonians looked good on the ball and were composed in their build up and only lacked the finish touch in he final third.

But it was Bruce Musakanya who put he Zambia Airforce sponsored side ahead early in he second half.

Musakanya later turned the favor to the young Lions when he handled in the box as Arrows conceded a penalty.

Substitute A Bodion stepped up to take the spot kick and his fierce shot left Danny Munyao in goal with no chance despite him managing to get a hand to it.

Speaking exclusively to ZamFoot after the game, the Cameroonian coach stated that the game had prepared his charges technically for he game against South Africa.

He also stated that they were not going to play another friendly ahead of the game against South Africa on Monday.

The Red Arrows coach Honor Janza speaking to the Cameroun media team reiterated that the friendly match was a good practice match for his team as they continue their preparations for the MTN/FAZ supper league.

He also pointed out that the young Lions are a good technically gifted side and wished them all the best in the tournament.

The Cameroun team leaves for Ndola tomorrow (Friday) and not today as earlier reported on ZamFoot due to changes in their travel plans.

  2. For this stage, you only can use National IDs (NRC and Passport) details and history of the player. Based on documented information available for these players, they are eligible for this CAF/U20 tournament
