We will play to win against Zimbabwe – Wada Wada

Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda has said his team will play to win in tomorrow’s international friendly match against Zimbabwe.

Nyirenda was speaking after seeing his team go through the paces at the National Sports Stadium where his team will play tomorrow.

“There are a lot of things we are looking at, but the objective at the end of the day is to inculcate a winning mentality. We will give tomorrow match’s everything we have,” Nyirenda told fazfootball.

“I am impressed with the condition of the pitch which will make both sides enjoy the match.”

Nyirenda told Fazfootball.com that there was nothing friendly about tomorrow’s match as both sides would be defending their reputations.

The team went through the paces largely light work but physical trainer Milos Buzjic broke the routine when he weighed in with some intense work outs.

Zimbabwe put a dent on Nyirenda’s record after they beat the Chipolopolo 1 – 0 in November in what was only the coach’s second match in-charge.

Nyirenda is using the match to assemble a team that will be used for African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifier against Swaziland in July.

    • Is he not Congolese? Did they neutralize his immigration status? I think that is why he’s has not played for Zambia, I could be wrong.

  1. There is a need to cast the .net wider for natural talented and skilful wingers and strikers. My reservations on the selection of Sate sate.

  2. The centre back is rotten. Kondwani, fayo and chaila they are slow in midfield . The should bring in young players who are fast and skillful. Its a sad story to learn that zambia is yet to will a competetive match. They last won in kenya during the days of king kalu.

  3. I did not see the logic of calling mweene to assess him. He is sitting on the bench. And this wont change anything. Advice him to leave and join a club where he can play weak in weak out.. Moreover their are good goalkeepers in zambia. Mangami banda is ready to take over.

  4. Walter bwalyas mother is a congolese but his father is a zambian and he has even express interest to play for zambian national team but I don’t know why our coach keep on ignoring him, mr stumpy with duel respect you can’t compare sate sate with walter bwalya the guy is better than sate sate

  5. Evidently FAZ does not have time to convince this Walter guy to play for our flag.

We have the boys in Russia, Austria & Conylide Luchanga. Just show some confidence in them & they will step up for National duties.

  6. Ivory Coast played a quality friendly in Russia versus the World Cup hosts…they beat Russia 2-0. Now that is what you call a seroius FA(great goals from the Ivorians)
