We want Sudan not Morocco in quarter finals, says Namibia coach
Namibia coach Ricardo Manetti has said his side will play to avoid Morocco in CHAN 2018 Group B match.
Zambia and Namibia go head to head at King Mohammad V Stadium in Casablanca on Monday at 21h00 in a top of the table clash.
” You want to avoid the host team Morocco and therefore we go for Sudan for us in the quarterfinals,” Manetti told a press briefing Monday morning.
Morocco has already dismantled Guinea and Mauritania in their first two group matches and that hasn’t gone unnoticed.
“Morocco are a free scoring team with very good players and they have the whole country behind them,” he added
“So avoid them now and meet later.
The Brave Warriors’ captain Ronald Ketjijere echoed his coach’s sentiments.
We also want to win and go back to our base in Marrakech and so the game against Zambia will be huge. A cosafa derby and both team will fight for a win. But we both in the next round and that is important as well”, Ricardo Mannetti says.
” Like the coach said, Morocco are at home and they have the support and for now we would like to take on Sudan because it will be level playing ground but against a very strong team”, captain Ronald Ketjijere states.
In order to avoid facing the Atlas Lions, who wi be action against Sudan on Sunday night, Namibia need to beat Zambia.
