Wada Wada won’t drag FAZ to FIFA over unpaid salaries due to patriotism
Former Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda says his patriotism cannot allow him to drag the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to FIFA despite being owed a lot of money.
Nyirenda, who is currently calling shots at South African Premier Soccer League side Baroka, said that he is owed a lot of money from unpaid salaries when he was national team coach.
According to sources, Wedson was unpaid for seven months. Nyirenda’s monthly agreed payment was K100,000.
Meanwhile, immediate past coach Sven Vandenbroeck has reported FAZ to FIFA over his unpaid five months salary which goes close to a total of K600,000.
Sven was only paid twice out of his seven months stay in Zambia.
FAZ are still looking for a new Chipolopolo coach and the government has promised to support them with a total of K100,000 pay month and they have advised the association to go for a local coach if can’t manage to top up on that amount.[Zambia Daily Mail]
