Wada explains Fwayo’s absence from Chipolopolo squad
Chipolopolo coach Wedson Nyirenda has explained the absence of Fwayo Tembo from the team that will play Swaziland in the 2018 CHAN qualifier Mbabane.
Nyirenda who has received criticism from the Chipolopolo faithfuls on his team selection said that the attacker has only been excused for this game.
“The striker has commitments back home and we couldn’t bring him to Swaziland as we felt he needed the break, otherwise he is still part and parcel of the team,” he told reporters in Swaziland.
There are indications from sources close to the Chipolopolo camp that there is a rift between the player and the coach after he missed the friendly match against South Africa and was not part of the Cosafa Cup squad.
The player is also absent from his club with Lusaka Dynamos hot on his heels for his signature.
Fwayo’s club Power Dynamos are also aware of the interest from South African side Polokwane City.
