Straight from beating Germany 4-3, Solomon ‘Capt Solo’ Sakala led the boys into prayers.
They then headed to their final ritual to applaud the Pastor Peter Makembo led Chipolopolo faithful.
Next was the legendary team dance and guess who was the choir master….Zesco United’s Shemmy Mayembe, scorer of the winning goal.
The young guns have already beaten European heavyweights in Portugal and Germany.
Next on the menu is Italy in Monday’s quarter final and should Beston Chambeshi’s lads navigate that one, then a date against England’s young lions awaits them in the semi finals.
Team spirit. One thing I love is that they unashamedly call upon the name ot the Lord, and doing it so publicly in the east.
Nice – Chris katongo was the ultimate choir master though…miss him…
God Bless Mother Zambia, and Mama Africa.
Zamfoot! How do u know dat dey cn meet England, are u writing mexico off??? Or maybe ur presuming u even know who will be playing both da semi final & final??
Good work Boys. Keep on doing the great work for Zambia. Congrats.
Bola Nalesa for sure.
Praise the Lord! I am with you @Lusanga! These boys are not ashamed of confessing the favour of God! May the Lord help them to conquer more opposition!
But Italy will also be praying to the same God. Football is more of hard work and luck
I feel sorry for Germany! Their coach had confessed to BBC Sport, him being weary of Zambia and put it at 50-50 before meeting the team. But I feel for the players here, because they would not have expected losing to an African team, I believe.
