Troubled Maramba not throwing in te towel just yet
Despite languishing in the bottom half of the FAZ Division One Zone four table on 9th position, Maramba Stars are not pressing the panic buttons just yet. Maramba coach Joseph Mwale says his team are doing everything to get back to winning ways.
Mwale who was enganged as head coach by the club in December last year after serving as assitant coach to by then head coach Bupe Chewe who left for town rivals Livingstone Pirates insisted that Maramba are still a good team despite going through a bad patch. Mwale believes teams sometimes go through bad patches not that they are a bad side but football is all about how preparation and having the right frame of mind for each and every game.
“We started very well but injuries rocked the team. Our midfield is now a makeshift as most of our players that have been out through injuries are not yet back. Some players have left us without proper reasons but we still have hope of finding our feet and grind out results, ” Mwale told the ZamFoot Crew in an exclusive interview.
“We are not that worried at all about where we are because we are not that far and we are working on getting ourselves out of this position. What we are working on is psyching our players to never give up and utilise our tactics. We will start picking points soon from the remaining 10 games, I’m confident we will get points to challenge for top four,” he added.
Coach Mwale went on to urge fans to embrace the team especially when they are going through a bad patch because they could be the difference between victory and defeat. He stressed that Maramba was a community team that needed the fans a lot to achieve its goals.
Maramba Stars’s next game is at home against fellow strugglers Choma Football Stars who are third from botton on 14th place.
