Tight Race as feeder clubs fight for zone four
An exciting finish to the FAZ Division One Zone Four is on the cards this weekend with Young Green Eagles and Zesco Shockers all in contention for the top honours and qualification for Super League playoff in July. With just one game to go in Zone Four, the two teams are all still contention to be crowned champions for Zone Four whose reward is playing playoffs to win promotion into the top flight MTN/FAZ Super League.
Things got heated up last weekend when shockers dropped two points in a 2-2 draw away to Maramba and Young Green Eagles beating the Landlords Livingstone Pirates 2-1 at home in Kafue to move top of the log. So after 29 matches, the Eagles are having 60 points from 18 wins, 6 draws and five losses with Shockers also having 60 points with 17 wins,3 draws and 9 losses making things at the top interesting for the big finish to the playoff race.
Zesco shockers will conclude the season with a tricky encounter at home against stubborn Net Custers Sinazongwe United who is also in the race of qualifying for the New National Division One League.
A lot of things have to go right to win it but they will be hoping there young brothers Zesco Vic Falls can do them a favour by beating the eaglets but before they even look to their brothers for help they need to do their part first and concentrate on winning their game with a huge scoreline.
On the other hand for young Green Eagles, they need to do the same and win in the tourist capital which is tricky for them as well as they face Zesco Vic Falls. The Kafue outfit has a better goal scored with 44 to 37 for shockers. With all the ingredients of an exciting finish this weekend, we could see the team qualifying to the playoff from Zone four being decided by a goal difference margin.
