Green Buffaloes head coach Bilton Musonda alluded his teams elimination from the CAF Confederation cup to silly mistakes made by his defence.
Musonda believes they handed Al-Masry the tie. Despite the loss Musonda picked up lessons from the competition.
“We have learned one or two lessons. We have learned not to make mistakes at this high level especially in defence. Silly mistakes cost as the game even today the goal they scored was a mistake by our defence, Someone should have cleared that ball before it bounced,” Musonda said
” We know now that when going into this competition we need to solidify our squad,” he added.
Green Buffaloes beat Egyptian side Al-Masry by two goals to one but we’re booted out of the CAF Confederation cup 5-2 on aggregate.
Why were you giving false hopes to your fans! Learn to be realistic at times when you face the media. Deep down your heart you knew you were out and done just after the 4 nil bashing you suffered in Egypt.
@Anita i couldn’t agree with you more. The Coach is full of excuses. You lose 4-0 and you say sill mistakes? You were just beaten by a better team give them credit. Otherwise you will never learn with is attitude.
Buffaloes simply have no team to compete at this level. Imagine playing Raja Casablanca, TP Mazembe or Sundowns. Only Zesco and Zanaco seem to have the ability to compete at this level.
let them buy players
GBFC offered a lot of promise but to fall at the first hurdle is disappointing. N African opposition all play the same way so the result shows poor understanding of countering their style of play.
it’s better they buy players or else they are going no where even in our local league.
I have watched green baffaloez in local league. They are a team which does not start well in each season, they only pick up form and coordinate well as the league progresses. I had a feeling that this will transcend to the confederation cup of which it happened.
This kind or mediocrity will soon cost Zambia the hard earned four slots with CAF.
