Sikazwe to officiate Real Madrid final at Club World Cup
Celebrated Zambian referee Janny Sikazwe will referee the Club World Cup final between Real Madrid and Kashima Antlers at the International Stadium Yokohama (Sunday, 12:30am).
Sikazwe is the only African referee at the 2016 Club World Cup and has raised the bar by taking up the prestigious appointment to be the centre man for the club World Cup final.
It will be the first time the Zambian official has refereed a Real Madrid game.
During this competition however, he has refereed the game between Kashima Antlers and Auckland City, which ended 2-1 in favour of the Japanese side.
Real Madrid have a star studded team at the tournament with only skipper Sergio Ramon and Gareth Bale missing due to injury.
Karim Benzema and Christiano Ronaldo scored a goal each for the European champions when they beat Club America in the semi finals on their path to the final.
