Shonga re-union delights Mulenga
Zambia national team midfielder Augustine Mulenga has expressed happiness at being re-united with his friend Justin Shonga at Orlando Pirates.
Mulenga told Orlando Pirates official website that it was the duo’s dream to play together, A dream which was almost eluding them. The former Sensational Zanaco man is confident, he and Shonga will perform well for the Buccaneers.
“Justin is like my brother, we grew up together. We were supposed to play for Nkwazi FC together but I left the club a couple of months before he joined. We have played together for Chipolopolo where we were always roommates. We have played together in the COSAFA Cup, through the CHAN qualifiers and some international friendlies.”
“I am happy that I am going to see a familiar face when I start my new career on Wednesday. It is difficult to put in words what it means for the both of us to be here. We are childhood friends, we grew up having the same dream of playing together and winning cups together. For a while it felt as if we would never play together because life was pulling us in different directions but now we are both here and it is almost an indescribable feeling, I just see it as a promise of what’s to come and I pray that the Lord helps us reach our goals with Orlando Pirates.”
The Buccaneers fans long wait finally came to an end, the long-anticipated arrival of Augustine Mulenga yesterday, Wednesday, February 17th finally come to pass.
